Fraunhofer & EPFL/CSEM Research Infrastructures for the Peroskite PV

VIPERLAB is an H2020 EU-funded project bringing a network of Europe-based scientists and research organizations in Perovskite PV. The mission of VIPERLAB is to facilitate faster and reliable technology evaluation cycles to enable a swift market entry for Perovskite-based PV products and hence a more wide-spread utilization of renewable energy conversion technology.

H2020 VIPERLAB Project offers free access to the state-of-the-art perovskite EU infrastructures that cover the whole innovation/value chain from material preparation to characterization of perovskite devices and modules.

On November 30, 2022 14:00-15:00 (CET)
we will present two very relevant VIPERLAB Research Infrastructures

Fraunhofer Solar cell manufacturing & characterization

Fraunhofer offers an infrastructure fot the Solar cell manufacturing & characterization to realize high efficiency silicon bottom cells, Vacuum and wet chemical processing of layers for perovskite tandem solar cells, advanced metallisation concepts, Electrical and optical analyses of perovskite silicon tandem cells and precursers, High resolution analyses down to the nano scale

EPFL/CSEM – PV lab/PV center & PSK/SI Tandem processing

The Swiss Center for Electronics and Microtechnology (CSEM) and the Photovoltaics and Thin-Film Electronics Laboratory (PVLAB) of the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) offer access to their perovskite laboratories  to improve efficiency and stability of PSK/Si Solar cells to allow their scaling up onto larger surface through the H2020 VIPERLAB project.

In July 2022, these laboratories demonstrated 1-cm2 tandem solar cells with power conversion efficiencies exceeding 30% for a tandem perovskite-silicon solar cell, the first time this milestone has been reached for this technology.
