Perovskite-silicon tandem solar cells Infrastructure at FhG-ISE (© Fraunhofer ISE)
The Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft is the largest organisation for applied research in Europe and works closely with industry. Work in VIPERLAB will be carried out at the Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems ISE (Freiburg) and the Fraunhofer Center for Silicon Photovotaics CSP (Halle), which is a collaboration of the Fraunhofer ISE and the Fraunhofer Institute for Microstructure of Materials and Systems IWMS (Halle). With more than 1200 employees, Fraunhofer ISE is the largest solar research institute in Europe. Based on the excellent laboratory infrastructure, materials, components, systems and processes are being developed in the business area Photovoltaics. The activities range from basic research to industrial realization and commercialisation
Fraunhofer will provide infrastructure in the area of solar cell manufacturing and characterisation. Fraunhofer will lead WP10-JRA4 on environmental, social and economic impact. It will also contribute to the other JRA and the Networking activities

H2020 VIPERLAB Project offers free access to the state-of-the-art perovskite EU infrastructures that cover the whole innovation/value chain from material preparation to characterization of perovskite devices and modules. Today we present two very relevant VIPRLAB research Infastructures: FRAUNHOFER Solar Cell Manufacturing & Characterization & EPFL/CSEM – PV lab/PV Center & PSK/SI Tandem processing.
