PV engineer in National Renewable Energy Centre
Javier Diaz Berrade has worked in the field of photovoltaics since 2003. At the Solar Department of CENER (Centro Nacional de Energías Renovables), he participated in the design and start-up of the Photovoltaic Module Testing Laboratory, one of the first laboratories in the world accredited to perform tests for the qualification of crystalline silicon PV modules. He has also participated actively in the extension of the laboratory to other technologies (thin film, concentrator photovoltaics, perovskite) and collaborated in the development of international standards. During these years he has acquired experience in the characterization of PV modules and their potential degradation mechanisms; analyzing them from their origin in the manufacturing processes to their consequences in the energy generation of photovoltaic power plants. he is also board member of ESMC- European Solar Manufacturing Council

The stability of perovskite devices is a key point should be addressed to achieve commercialisation. The key factors influencing the stability of the devices are the exposure to oxygen and moisture, UV light, solution processing and thermal effects. Encapsulation and standard testing protocols are required to check and improve stability. The two presented infrastructures offer state of the art equipment for the Perovskite Stability testing of materials and devices.
